Avril Lavigne confirmed in a statement that she and fellow Canadian rocker, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, have separated.
"I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart," she said on her website.
Lavigne, 24, is reported to have asked Whibley, whom she married in 2006, to move out of their Los Angeles mansion.
Rumours of a rift between the two grew louder in recent months. In August, Lavigne was spotted partying with friends, with her husband nowhere to be seen.
Lavigne, who was vacationing with female friends, was spotted heading out night after night to Davis' yacht, moving to the clubs at midnight, before partying until the early hours back on board. "She was seen downing shots, drinking booze from the bottle and play-fighting men on the beach," said one French Riviera source. "She wasn't acting like a married woman at all".
